Chicken

Chicken is an original A2 drawing crafted with Faber Castell Polychromo pencils on high quality mixed-media paper. This work conveys a city at night with busy traffic and a lonesome pedestrian crossing the road. In the foreground there is extraordinary attention to detail with the reflections in the wet ground, car lights, rain and shadows; along with the focal point of the piece (the man with the umbrella) I wanted to evoke the feeling of being frozen in time through these stunning details and colour contrasts. The person with the umbrella is my representation of the idea of walking through life unarmed, with nothing but your own will driving you, and nothing but an umbrella protecting you from harsh weathers. 

This is a one-of-a-kind framed artwork, signed by the artist (Ashley Kingswell); included is a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist.
